Interdisciplinary Pursuits

Driven by a long-standing fascination with how CBDCs reshape societal structures—from the ethics of privacy to the geopolitics of finance—I synthesize my background in Women Leadership (Barnard), management & technology (Wharton), and finance (Morgan Stanley) to tackle the multifaceted challenges of financial exclusion and systemic oversight in our evolving global ecosystem.

Affirmation of my keen interest in CBDC through an award-winning essay publication.

After learning how monetary systems function in economics, I was fascinated by how this collective trust developed from cows for bags of rice, to ink and copper—and to the emergence of  Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). I submitted a paper to the Harvard International Economic Essay Competition, presenting my independent research which analyzed the economic impacts of CBDC, FinTech, and financial inclusion. Out of a global pool of applicants, I was selected as 1 of only 15 individuals worldwide to receive a Highly Commended Award for my work.

Leadership in the Business World (LBW)

In LBW, held by Wharton Global Youth Program, I learned business concepts around the case study method. The course is centered around a final case competition, where each team chooses a company that is currently facing a decision-making process. We need to conduct the company's external analysis, internal analysis, competitive analysis, practice pitching an organization’s strategy choices, engage in boardroom conversations with a debate competition, practicing organization, leadership, and public speaking.

Our team was a finalist (2 out of 23 teams) for the case competition. In my team, I proposed TSMC as our case competition, with their current Arizona third fab expansion. Before LBW, I already followed the news related to TSMC because it connects to the topics I care about the most. With my personal experience, understanding the work culture and semiconductor educational pipeline, I was able to contribute to my team, leading a thorough analysis of our competition.

Management & Technology Summer Institute (M&TSI)

I was 1 of the 75 students selected to participate in M&TSI, hosted by the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology at the University of Pennsylvania. M&TSI is an extremely rigorous three-week college-credit course centered around engineering, finance, technology, and entrepreneurship. The program also highlights a prototyping project with a team of 5, where we develop hardware, software, and business plans to practice entrepreneurship and technology innovation.

Young Women Leadership Institute

I participated in Barnard's Young Women Leadership Institute in the Chemical Engineering Track. I had the opportunity to learn the foundations of chemical engineering, visiting research labs in Columbia University, American Museum of Natural History, and engage in panel discussions. Meanwhile, I also participated in leadership seminars, developing skills in collaboration, handling unexpected challenges, and how gender roles play in leadership.

Morgan Stanley Finance Academy (MSFA)

I've been selected to participate in the highly selective Morgan Stanley Finance Academy (MSFA). It's a five-month virtual career development program designed for high school seniors across the U.S. Through this opportunity, which runs for five months starting October 28, 2025, I'll be participating in bi-weekly sessions, a mentorship program, and getting exposure to professionals across Morgan Stanley.
